There’s really nothing better than enjoying a tasty slice of pizza and reading some interesting facts about this delicious food at the same time. - The very first pizzas were sold in one big pizza pie because slices were not available. It wasn’t until the 1930s that an entrepreneur in New York City started selling pizza by the slice and of course the rest is history.
- In the 1960s when American intelligence units wanted to know what reporters were up to, they set up fake pizza deliveries to spy on these unsuspecting citizens.
- There are quite a few celebrities who started in the pizza delivery business. Most notably is the star of Caddy Shack Bill Murray and action hero John Claude Van Damme.
Pizza has even done its part to help the police. In 2010, they were able to take the DNA from a slice of pizza and catch a serial killer after he’d enjoy a piece at a family birthday party.
